About Us

Hibikino-Musashi@Home

We are a student-project team founded in Kitakyushu Science and Research Park, Japan. Currently, 24 members belong to our team, from seven laboratories. Our feature is that the team is made up of students from diverse laboratories, so various knowledge and know-how gather together in one place. Our goal is to realise a Home Service Robot that can coexist with humans.

As we aim to accomplish the purpose,

  1. Participate in competitions
  2. Develop a platform for research implementations
  3. Develop exercise materials that can be used in lectures

Competitions

The RoboCup@Home league aims to develop service and assistive robot technology with high relevance for future personal domestic applications. It is the largest international annual competition for autonomous service robots and is part of the RoboCup initiative [1].

Since 2010,  we have been participating in the RoboCup@Home, World Robot Challenge, and small competitions of research society on the intelligent Home Robotics (iHR), and we check the quality and functionality of the robot system through these competitions.

A Platform for Research Implementations

We also develop robots as a platform to implement research results.

Students from diverse laboratories make use of their knowledge and implement their research results on our robots. Our team aims to develop a new robot that introduces state-of-the-art technologies.

Joint Graduate School Intelligent Car & Robotics Course

CarRobo Joint Graduate School is a course for human resource development that develops intelligent automobiles / intelligent robots that are expected to develop greatly in the future. This course cooperates with three universities (Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech), The University of Kitakyushu (UK), Waseda University (WU) ) that have campuses in Kitakyushu Science and Research Park.

Hibikino-Musashi@Home also carries out teaching materials to be used at the CarRobo Joint Graduate School and lectures using robots. In the lectures, you can acquire a wide range of knowledge from general purpose knowledge on robots to characteristic parts of robots developed by your team.
