Profile
Kaori Yoshida was born in Kitakyushu city, Fukuoka, Japan. She has studied Electrics and Computer Engineering at Kyushu Institute of Technology and received her bachelor and master degree. From 1996 to 1999, she has worked as intern at Electrotechnical Laboratory, AIST, MITI in Tsukuba city, Japan. She has conducted a JSPS Research Fellowship from 1998 and achieved doctoral degree at Kyushu Institute of Technology in 1999 with her thesis works: "Kansei Information Processing -Applied to Multimedia Database System-". From 1999 to 2004, she has working as Research Associate in Dept. of Computer Systems and Electronics, Kyushu Institute of Technology. In this period, she was selected as project leader in IPA Exploratory Software Project with her project works: "Personal User Modeling Tool with Kansei Database" from 2000 to 2001. Since 2004, she is Associate Professor in Dept. of Artificial Intelligence, and since 2013, she is Associate Professor in Dept. of Brain Science and Engineering, Kyushu Institute of Technology.
She was visiting researcher at CSLI Stanford University in 2003, visiting researcher at NIME from 2002 to 2004, visiting researcher at ATR Media Information Science Research Institute from 2004 to 2006, adjunct lecturer at Texas A&M University in 2010, Senior Research Scientist at Fuzzy Logic Systems Institute since 2011, and she is also collaborating as researcher at Network Design Research Center since 2004. Her research interests include Kansei Information Processing, Human Computer Interaction and Soft Computing. She has published more than 100 research papers in these fields, and is also active member of IEEE, IPSJ, SOFT, JSKE, BMFSA, and member of editorial boards of various journals and program committees of many conferences.
